AMD Shows Off Upcoming Radeon HD 6990 Flagship | Hardware Canucks

AMD is getting ready to hand NVIDIA a knockout punch with its impending release of the dual GPU flagship card, the Radeon HD 6990. The card was paraded at an AMD press event in Asia yesterday.
The card, codenamed “Antilles”, is compromised of two 40nm Cayman GPU’s, likely to carry a mixture of specs from the HD 6950 and 6970, including a confirmed 3072 stream processors, and 4096 MB of memory. As shown in the photo’s, video output is limited to a single dual link DVI and four Display Port 1.2 connections. Power is provided by a 6 and 8-pin PCIe power connector and features a single Crossfire connector for CrossfireX capabilities.

The design is pretty much the same fare as the 6950 and 6970. The card is expected be roughly around 300mm in length.
