NVIDIA GTX 560 SLI versus AMD Radeon 6950 Xfire videos

As promised, here are the videos for GTX 560 SLI, but this is better viewed in comparison to the Radeon 6950 in Xfire. What I would love to see or for that matter test if I could get these companies to lend me some samples for a review, would be GTX 580 SLI vs 6950 triple XFire. That would bring the 3x Xfire mode to almost the price of a GTX 580 SLI setup.

Now here is one with GTX 560 SLI Vs Radeon 6870 Xfire.

GTX 560 Ti NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Card Video Review & Tessellation Demo...

Here are two videos of the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 560 Video Card. The first one is actually quite a long and detailed one, whereas the second one deals with overclockign the card. I will see if I can get my hands on any SLI testing and benching videos soon.

Here is a short video on the basics of Eyefinity setup. If you have been thinking of buying and setting up an ATI Eyefinity 3 setup with 3 monitors for example, then this video is for you. Its good as a starting reference point. Especially more so for n00bs but good for everyone else, nonetheless.

Apple sued ... again: This time over iPhone 4 breaking glass

I love the United States. I mean, you caould sue over anything. I mean anything! You could sue just because the Sun shines, if you so please. The latest news in this regard is that Donald LeBuhn is sueing Apple over the iPhone 4′s glass housing.

LeBuhn has filed a class action suit in L.A. County, claiming that the company is aware of the problem and refuses to warn customers that ‘normal’ use of the phone could actually lead to a broken glass panel.
The report says that LeBuhn bought an iPhone 4 in September and that the glass broke on him three weeks later when his daughter dropped it to the ground, from a height of three feet. We would assume she did so accidentally.

It also supports AMD’s AM2, AM2+, AM3 and AM3+ platforms and has Antec’s three year limited warranty protection. The pump is rated to 50,000 hours, or around five years solid use.
The recommended price will be around $70 in the USA.

Cooler Master Launches Two New Elite Series Chassis | Hardware Canucks

Cooler Master Announces Elite 371 Value Gaming Case
The two words budget and case rarely come true when put together, but Cooler Master has mastered this by designing affordable chassis without compromising on quality. The new Elite 371 builds upon Cooler Master expertise and delivers high-end features in the affordable market space. Cooler Master believes that just because something is affordable, it doesn’t have to lack features or be a “budget” product.

The Elite 371 features a classic black Cooler Master design with clean, yet attractive lines. It has been built to last and uses high quality materials. It’s also been designed to keep the components inside the case cool and not only does it have space for plenty of additional cooling fans, but it can also be fitted with large CPU coolers.
Plenty of room to grow
The Elite 371 might be an affordable case, but that doesn’t mean it’s limited as it has plenty of room for your system to grow in as you upgrade. There are three 5.25-inch drive bays, as well as one forward facing 3.5-inch drive bay and five internal 3.5-inch drive bays for hard disk drives. There’s even room for a pair of high-end ATI Radeon HD 5970 graphics cards from AMD.
High-end cooling
If you’re concerned about cooling your components, then the Elite 371 will put your mind to rest as it comes fitted with a rear 120mm fan and it has space for two additional top mounted 120mm fans, a front mounted 120 or 140mm, two 120 or 140mm side mounted fans as well as a bottom mounted 80, 90 or 120mm fan. The top mounted fans as well as the air-intake for the bottom mounted PSU all features air filters to reduce the dust that gets sucked into the case.
Cooler Master engineered
As with all Cooler Master chassis the Elite 371 has a range of practical features such as tool-free installation of both optical drives and hard drives, easy access to the back of the CPU socket for easy installation and removal of the CPU cooler and a pair of front mounted USB 2.0 ports and audio jacks.

Cooler Master Also Announces Elite 343 Value MATX Case

Cooler Master introduces the new Elite 343, mini tower chassis designed for Micro-ATX motherboards. This case comes with the Cooler Master’s excellent quality and design. For the average user, Elite 343 allows for a quiet environment. For anyone with a powerful PC, Elite 343 also fits the bill as adding fans for improved ventilation is easy. The good traits of easy installation, and a cool yet quiet interior environment combined with its outlook makes the Elite 343 a great option for users wanting to assemble compact systems.
Quiet Environment and High Ventilation
The Elite 343 allows for building compact systems to perform greatly without having to sacrifice on noise issues. With the pre-installed 120mm fan and mesh design on the front, Elite 343 gives users a quiet and constant cooling environment. For users needing additional ventilation, Elite 343 has provision in the back for installing 80 mm or 90 mm fan to enhance heat absorption.
Easy Assembly and Customization
The new Elite 343 has two 5.25” tool-free. The removable HDD cage and retaining holes allow for easy customization. If users want to install long graphic card like AMD HD 5970, they can remove the HDD cage in order to provide plenty of space for those long graphic cards. Mac OS X 10.6.7 is being seeded to devs.

The latest installment of updates from Apple has been seeded to devs. Strangely enough, this one doesn't contain any framebuffers relating to the 6xxx series Graphic Cards from AMD. This has led to speculation whether or not the 6xxx series will be used in the upcoming refresh or if NVIDIA will play ball again.

Pixelmator makes $1 million in 20 days on the Mac App Store, gives Adobe sleepless nights

London-based firm Pixelmator probably gave Adobe’s Photoshop team a few sleepless nights when they announced that they had made a whopping $1 million of sales in just 20 days on the recently launched Mac App Store.

Pixelmator is a lightweight image manipulation tool aimed at graphics professionals who may not need all of Photoshop’s tools and filters, and want to save money on Adobe’s hefty pricing. Pixelmator is currently on offer at just $29.99 in the Mac App Store. It offers many of the core features that Photoshop has such as layers, layer groups, gradients, transform tools, image/canvas size, typography formatting, optimization for web, and not to mention 64-bit performance (essential for snappy performance on Snow Leopard).

There are of course a few features still absent that Photoshop die-hards won’t be able to live without, such as layer styles and character spacing & line-height, but as Pixelmator has demonstrated, there is a sizeable demand for a lightweight graphic app to rival Photoshop, even just through the only recently released Mac App Store.

Considering that the PlayStation 3 has been released in November, 2006 you might be temped to think that until now there was some other hacker that made public the PlayStation 3 root key, but you would be wrong, as Geohot is indeed the first hacker to hack and release for the public the PlayStation 3 root keys and using these, you will be able of installing a custom homemade PlayStation 3 Firmware. To install the custom home brew PS3 firmware you need an USB flash drive and do not perform any system update, as that will lock your device.

So, if you wish to know how to successfully install a custom home brew PS3 firmware on your gaming console, then you should follow the instructions listed below:
  1. First thing to do is to insert your USB flash stick into the PC.
  2. Now insert the following address into the root of the USB flash stick: http://geohot.com/test.pkg’.
  3. Now you have to insert the USB flash stick into the PlayStation 3 console.
  4. Go to Game Tab and select ‘Install Package Files’.
  5. Now choose ‘test.pkg’ and the installation will start.
  6. When everything is set and done you will notice that the Geohot’s test package is listed under the Install Package Files.
  7. That’s it. Now you should wait for the PlayStation 3 community to create other packages.
Please note that I do not encourage anyone to install custom PS3 firmware nor hacking their gaming console. This post contains only informational content for the knowledge hungry.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No its a Flying Yacht. Yes thats right, if this concept goes through we may as well see a flying yacht in the future. There are some rules that you have to follow when you create a concept. One of those rules is: don’t break the laws of physics. This vehicle doesn’t obey this rule.

Verizon Blackberry glitch hits iPhone launch?

Though Verizon's executives have emphatically asserted that execution of the upcoming iPhone launch will be flawless, a recent glitch in BlackBerry data traffic on the network could be cause for concern, a new report claims.

Customers on the Verizon Wireless network had reported having trouble connecting to the Internet on a BlackBerry support forum since last Tuesday, Reuters reports.

Verizon downplayed the issue saying, "There is no outage, and there hasn't been one," spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said. "Our engineers discovered that a small number of customers in a limited geographic area had technical glitches that resulted in their email being delayed up to an hour".

Build a $10 Android Wind-up charger

IS this the first official shot of the Sony PSP Phone?

While the PSP2 is not yet official, there have been fan Photoshop creations. This one however, seems to have originated from Sony.
Sony is expected to unveil the new PlayStation Portable, which is currently being called the PSP2 this week. As the day approaches, this art work surfaced online on 2ch, Japan's largest online forum.
The photo features a handheld believed to be the PSP2, which has a PSPgo style sliding shell. There is a 32 GB SD memory card as well, plus a "PSP2" memory stick. There is a long, thin stylus as well.
Unlike the current PSP, there are two analog nubs, giving this handheld a controller layout similar to the PS3.
What is fishy about the picture is that it appears to be a photograph of a handout of some kind. While handouts may be present at the January 27 press conference, it's also a good way for a Photoshopper to hide their work, as it masks any differences in resolution you'd be able to detect in an online image.
Official Sony art is typically at a higher resolution, but this art is not, which also sends off alarm bells. The buttons and the d-pad look to be at a slightly different resolution. The copyright in the bottom left, which appears on official Sony images, is cut off, too. Likewise, odd. However, as mentioned above, this purported PSP2 image could be photo taken of official Sony art or of an official Sony handout, hence these resolution inconsistencies.
The thumbsticks are in a different location from photos that appeared last fall of what is supposedly the PSP2.
Last October, Kotaku broke the news that the PSP2 will ditch the UMD format and could very well rival the Xbox 360 in horsepower.
Whether or not it is real, won't be known for sure if and when the rumored PSP2 is finally made public. However, Kotaku is reaching out to Sony and will update this post should the company comment.

Facebooking is not a sin.... Amen....

Facebooking is not a sin, says Pope Benedict XVI. The Pope officially blessed the usage of Internet communication tools, especially social networks, but warned about risks.

"In the search for sharing, for 'friends', there is the challenge to be authentic and faithful, and not give in to the illusion of constructing an artificial public profile for oneself," he stated. He reminded Christians not to forget the interaction with others in the real world: "It is important always to remember that virtual contact cannot and must not take the place of direct human contact with people at every level of our lives."
In his statement of Truth, Proclamation and Authenticity of Life in the Digital Age, he invited his community twice to actively participate in digital communication. "I would like then to invite Christians, confidently and with an informed and responsible creativity, to join the network of relationships which the digital era has made possible." If these words are not compelling enough, he noted that the Vatican is using the new tools as well: "I invite young people above all to make good use of their presence in the digital world. I repeat my invitation to them for the next World Youth Day in Madrid, where the new technologies are contributing greatly to the preparations."
This is a welcome change, especially if we remember that Pope Benedict XVI comes from the depths of a very conservative and Catholic area of Bavaria in Germany. Those who remember Pope Benedict as Archbishop Joseph Ratzinger preaching in Munich's cathedral may not have expected an apostolic approval of social networks from the Vatican.

Is NVIDIA revealing Tegra 3 at MWC

Source: Hexus

Nvidia's Mike Rayfield said he plans to release a new Tegra every year, leading to speculation that the third generation SoC will be revealed next month.

Are we going to see that "2" replaced by a "3" soon?
"I'm going to come pretty close to my cadence of a launch every year," said Rayfield. "It will be in production around the same time as my competitors' first dual-cores will."
This will undoubtedly put manufacturers like Qualcomm, TI and others who typically take longer to launch new generations in a tight spot.

Apple's going to screw you(r) iPhone!

Source: Tomshardware

Apple is screwing its products in a new way, literally. They are using a new type of screw, the "pentalobe" or "pentalobular", as it is called, which is a rounded, five-pronged screw.
While most electronics with tamper-proof screws use the Torx head – which is available for purchase, but not readily available in most households – Apple has gone a step further with something completely new that even DIYers can't get. They want you to stop snooping around with stuff you paid for.
The new screw first appeared in the mid-2009 MacBook Pro to prevent battery swaps, and now it's also standard on the new MacBook Air.
The iPhone 4 originally shipped with the Phillips head screws, but now those who have brought their phones into Apple for repair are getting their devices back with the pentalobe screw. Apple's certainly taken additional measures to make sure that customers can't freely open up their own property.
iFixit's posted some additional information and even makes a kit available with screw that will roughly fit the iPhone 4 to swap out for a Phillips. Apple sure are going to great lengths to make sure you don't have your cake and eat it too.

Acer phasing out netbooks in favour of "Tablets"

You just thought that the the dual-core Tegra 2 that wowed everyone at CES would be the king of tablet processors for some time to come, but Acer thinks likewise. An official from the company has promised two to three new tablets, sized at either 7 or 10 inches diagonally, for the first half of this year. Now that makes us drool over it. It is decided it seems that netbooks will eventually be phased out in favour of such handheld devices. Who says you have enough processing power. Your tablet still can't make you coffee now, can it!

Thermaltake Level 10 GT video

Here is a video of the soon to be released Thermaltake Level 10 GT case. This is a preview of sorts given to futurelooks.com by Tt at CES 2011. Here is the 6 min video. The case looks quite good for a $269 case. Still wonder if it can beat the Obsidian 800D at this price. But the "all" hot swappable drives get my juices flowing.

FastMac U-Socket now shipping out to the world.

FastMac's wall socket that serves up a pair of standard 110V power outlets alongside two USB juice ports is today taking the final steps to reaching its expectant owners' homes. Confirmation emails have been sent out to those who ordered earliest (see below) and the retail site promises a three- to four-week delivery time for orders placed today. The price is still just under $20, while the utility of being able to plug your USB device directly into the wall has probably never been higher. Time to find an USB Toaster to plug in to the wall socket!

Lag free Wii on PSP: Episode II

PSP Fanboy, Obiwan222222, is up to his old tricks once again. In his latest video, he shows that he has finally eliminated the lag problem that plagued his first attempt to play Wii on a PSP four years ago. Using a Wii emulator on a PC, some custom firmware, and a program called PSPDisplay, he has managed to stream video and sound to his PSP Go in real time. He also mapped the Wii controls (Wiimote waving excluded, we presume) to the handheld to complete the full Wii-on-PSP gameplaying experience. Check the video out below.

Thermaltake reveals Level 10 GT Chassis

Last week at CES 2011, Thermaltake revealed it updated version of the Level 10 chassis, the Level 10 GT. In Thermaltake's own words, this is what they have to say about the new chassis.

"The design language of the Level 10 GT expresses a passion for visual aesthetics deriving from demanding and immersive game play and multimedia entertainment enthusiasm," the company said. "Modern games and entertainment applications also require highly advanced hardware configurations, which at the same time request more space and optimized ventilation than conventional hardware."

The full tower chassis weighs around 28 pounds and supports motherboards up to eATX. It also provides room for four 5.25-inch drives, five internal hot-swappable 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives, and an external 2.5-inch drive. There's a 360-mm limit for VGA cards, a 190-mm height limit for the CPU cooler, and support for 1/2-inch, 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch water tubes. There's even room for a top-mounted radiator.

To satisy your cooling needs, the Level 10 GT's LED ColorShift system has a 200-mm front intake, a 200-mm top exhaust fan and a 200-mm side fan. Other features include a 140-mm rear Turbo exhaust, a windowed side panel, an all-black exterior and interior, and a top-mounted I/O panel with two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA port and one HD Audio port.

All I can say is that after the Level 10 chassis, this chassis seems an even more sexier option with no loss of functionality. I surely would like to get my hands on this chassis for a review.

As of now, there is no word on pricing. However, if this is priced even around the range of the Obsidian 800D, expect this to sell like hot cakes.
